George Wilt
Bassist/ Engineer/ Producer
Got an acoustic guitar in 1969, at age 13, after his older sister turned him on to " the revolution ". After realizing every body was learning guitar for the " cool factor", and no one was playing bass, he chose to change to bass. In 1972 he joined two long time schoolmates in what became the " coolest garage band in high school" And caught the rock and roll "bug". Skyhawk soon became the most popular local band in the area because of the decision early on to do only original songs. " All the other local bands were after the club gigs, but we wanted Madison Square Garden, so we never went the club route. We played less jigs but better venues, and soon had a decent following". The band built a studio in 1978 and began to pursue a recording contract. " In Feb 1982, on the verge of going big time, I realized the out of control, rock and roll lifestyle and all the things that went with it were going to put me in a early grave, so I unplugged my bass and walked away from my dream, but I was alive! " Moved from Florida to Boaz in 1994. Met local Sand Mt guitar hero Jeff Walker in church and began playing again in church. In April 2001, with, guitarist Jeff Walker, drummer Lynn Bishop, and Lead vocalist Pastor Mike Frost, formed Christian power rock band Seven Day Soldier, and played and spoke at many Drug Rehab Events and youth events in North Alabama, educating people about the dangers associated with drugs and alcohol. SDS disbanded in 2006. George joined with Project founder Donnie James in launching Brother Tree in Dec 2006.

Donnie James
Guitar/Vocals/Producer
Donnie's first memory of getting involved with music was in 1963, when his grandfather took him on a bus to Beale Street in Memphis, TN to purchase a banjo. He never learned to play it, but did master the guitar that Pop got him from Sears and Roebuck when he was 6. He then played in various garage bands playing in local bars and clubs in Memphis and Moon Landing in Mississippi. He has moved all across the country and managed to play wherever he has gone, never to have put the guitar down for very long. He has played locally in Ft Payne with friends. Donnie's musical influences have been Led Zepplin, Wishbone Ash, John Prine, Trapeze, and many others ranging from Country, rock and roll and blues. One of his fondest memories is getting to go to Johnny Cash's studio about a year before he crossed over and play with him, his friend Marty Stuart and Randy Scruggs. He began Brother Tree along with several other musicians in December 2006.
His philosophy is it is never to late to live your dreams
